Forget Ashley and Mary-Kate, Limerick’s Supermodel Twins are the only binary grouping you need to concern yourself with. The power popsters are about to unleash their second single ‘This Time Next Summer’. Chart-topping debut ‘Footprints’ went to number two in the Irish Download Charts. Recorded at Grouse Lodge, its follow-up is an infectious indie pop nugget replete with Weezer-esque guitar crescendos and intelligent, wry musings of the Elvis Costello variety.
The band start work on their debut album in October with Cranberries guitarist Noel Hogan, and plan to have it in the shops early in 2009.

Dublin rock five-piece Red Kid release their debut album Rocket Ship on August 8 with a launch in Crawdaddy, Dublin supported by The Hot Sprockets and Onya. Recorded in Pulse Studios the confection is born from a love of The Beatles, The Strokes, The Rolling Stones and Talking Heads.
The band also play Castlepalooza on August 2, The Chasing Bull Festival in Bundoran, Donegal on August 9, Nite Owls in Tipperary on August 22 and on August 23 they support Aslan in the Dungiven Centre in Derry...
Fellow Dubliner Rob Smith releases his next single ‘So Many So Near’ on Friday August 1 on Cocklebob Recordings through downloadmusic.ie. The track is taken from debut long-player Throwing It All Away which was released in March. Rob plays both dates of the Solas Festival at Huntington Castle on August 16 and 17…
In other news from The Pale hip-hoppers The Infomatics follow lauded debut album Kill Or Create with new single ‘Back To Front’ on August 15. Impressively their list of supports includes Soul II Soul, Ice-T, The Jungle Brothers, The Cool Kids and most recently Lupe Fiasco.

Dundalk prog/alt-rockers Artificial Flight launched their EP, Modest War Factor, recently at a packed show in The Spirit Store. The Louth five-piece, Gary J. Conlon on vocals, guitarist Sean Branton, drummer Gary Morgan, pianist Jennifer Finnegan and Dave McEneaney on bass, have been building up a strong following since their inception last year.
