Hot Press recently described the album as "the work of an artist at the top of her game"
Following the release of her lauded new album Now In A Minute on Friday, Susan O'Neill has scored a major week on the charts – debuting at No.1 on the Independent Albums Chart, and No.4 on the Irish Albums Chart.
The album scored a rave nine-star review in Hot Press, with Caroline Kelly describing the project as "a wonderfully realised offering", and "the work of an artist at the top of her game."
The Co. Clare-raised singer-songwriter collaborated with acclaimed musicians and producers on Now In A Minute, including Christian Best, Cian Riordan, and Daniel Ledwell. Long-time collaborator Mick Flannery co-wrote four tracks, while Wexford brothers Cillian and Lorcan Byrne (Basciville), along with Killian Browne and Alan Comerford, added their unique touches to the soundscape.
Now In A Minute's success relegates Fontaines D.C.'s Romance to No.2 on the Independent Chart, ending its reign at No.1. The Independent Chart also features Jamie xx's In Waves debuting at No.3 – followed by Arctic Monkeys' AM at No.4, and Frank Ocean's Blonde at No.5.
On the Irish Albums Chart, meanwhile, Now In A Minute is the only new entry in the Top 5. Susan comes in just behind Sabrina Carpenter's Short n' Sweet (No.1), Chappell Roan's The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess (No. 2), and Noah Kahan's Stick Season (No. 3) – and ahead of Taylor Swift's The Tortured Poets Department (No. 5).
