Calling all fans of experimental and punk music, this is a screening you won't want to miss.
Michael Gira's Swans has been one of the most enduring acts in the underground for nearly 35 years. On November 11th, the Irish Film Institute will be screening Marco Porsia's documentary 'Where Does A Body End?'
The documentary follows the progress of one band – Swans – covering their journey from the no-wave scene in New York to the band’s unexpected reformation. Following the recent release of the band’s 15th studio album, Leaving Meaning, viewers can watch the story of how Swans changed the dark punk-rock scene globally. In this unprecedented opportunity, fans can peer into the band's nihilistic world thanks to Marco Porsia's intimate documentation. Also, expect special cameos from the likes of Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore and Daniel Miller of Mote Records.
