Taylor Swift is the cover-star of Vanity Fair's September issue and has her say on the 'girl-code'
Known for being a feminist and girl power activist, Taylor Swift has told Vanity Fair what makes her girl squad so special. One of Swift's closest friends model Gigi Hadid is in a relationship with Swift's former boyfriend Joe Jonas, while Hadid also features on Calvin Harris' video 'How Deep Is Your Love'. According to Swift girls should stick together and not be in competition with each other, so it shouldn't matter if they have the same taste in men.
"We even have girls in our group who have dated the same people, it's almost like the sisterhood has such a higher place on the list of priorities for us. It's so much more important than some guy that it didn't work out with.
Swift goes onto say that "When you've got this group of girls who need each other as much as we need each other, in this climate, when it's so hard for women to be understood and portrayed the right way in the media. Now more than ever we need to be good and kind to each other and not judge each other, and just because you have the same taste in men, we don't hold that against each other."
Swift's girl group consists of the likes of Karlie Kloss, Kendall Jenner, Selena Gomez, Cara Delevingne and Lena Dunham, with Emma Watson jumping on the bandwagon prior to Taylor's recent London concerts.
