Sylvan Esso's forthcoming single is called 'Neon Blue,' with a Sam Gendel cover on the B-side.
Musical duo Sylvan Esso, made up of Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn, have announced the launch of their new record label, Psychic Hotline.
The label will officially start up this month, kicking off with a series of new singles from Sylvan Esso themselves as well as other artists. The first track in the series will be a new song from Meath and Blake Mills titled 'Neon Blue,' with a Sam Gendel cover on the B-side.
Releases from indie musicians Anjimile, Bartees Strange, Flock of Dimes, The Tallest Man on Earth with Mountain Man, and Uwade Akhere are expected to follow.
With Psychic Hotline, Meath and Sanborn intend to improve the traditional record company model. In a recent statement, the pair described the label as embodying the type of format they always dreamed of.
“[It is] an artist-led enterprise that strives to do right in radical ways by the creators who entrust us with their work; in the deals we make, the way we do business and the way we centre the art and the artist," the North Carolina electronic-pop act said.

"We do not seek to own intellectual property under any circumstance, nor do we subscribe to scarcity-based career approaches. We strive to ever-expand our musical community; to welcome more voices and more perspectives. We believe that the only common denominator in great music is honesty in expression,” the pair added.
Sylvan Esso will celebrate Psychic Hotline’s launch with the Psychic Hotline Block Party at Carrboro’s Cat’s Cradle on August 14th where they will perform along with guests Mountain Man, Young Bull, Helado Negro and Sam Gendel.
Sylvan Esso's most recent release was 2021 single 'Numb', featuring Teddy Geiger:
