SYML has just announced 23 different headline shows across Europe that span from June to October, including a live performance at The Button Factory in Dublin on 6 July 2019.
SYML, the solo venture of Brian Fennell, who was previously part of the indie band Barcelona, will be accompanied by a full band as he plays new songs from his upcoming album in addition to those from his older EPs.
Focusing on the things that matter are how Brian Fennell writes and records under his alias SYML. Simplicity is what moves SYML – a name that is pronounced “simmel”, and means “simple” in Welsh.
Adopted and not knowing his history or connection to his Welsh roots until the age of 18, Fennell creates music from his basement home studio in Issaquah, 20 miles to the east of Seattle.
The sounds he can conjure alone, with just him, his piano, keyboards, guitars and laptop; while the primal feelings he conveys with pin-point-and-personal lyrics, effortless melodies and a pure, emotive vocals.
