A lot of love went into the making of this record. However, the composition is guilty of the formulaic singer song writing by numbers that our world is so overwhelmed with by now. Derrick is trying a bit hard to produce what he thinks will work. A good move from here would be to avoid at all costs listening to any Irish S/SW and smother himself in a really broad repertoire of music that might inspire a more unique and honest perspective.
