It Takes a Village takes place at Trabolgan Holiday Village in East Cork, from May 8-10. It’s a fun-filled weekend of live music and podcasts, house and pool parties, and games like bowling, go-karting, and crazy golf, all nestled on the stunning south coast of Ireland
The packed music programme features artist such as Altin Gun, an Amsterdam based Turkish funk folk outfit, Cork legend and troubadour John Spillane, Dublin four piece indie-rockers Pillow Queens, Kerry’s finest young fella Junior Brother, and Post Punk Podge, blasting out from the Limerick underground. New additions to the music line-up include Cian Finn, Maija Sofia, Rachael Lavelle, Gemma Dunleavey plus Baliboc and Cork’s own Pretty Happy.
House 25 will play host to a number of podcasts and chats: The Creep Dive trio their wacky stories and tales from the depths of the web; The Critter Shed bring the curious on a trail of discovery through the forests and fields of the 121 acre site at Trabolgan; and Ringo Music Bingo returns with Ronan, as does Ainle Ó Cairealláin’s Rebel Matters podcast.
House 26 is a new addition to the festival, which will feature some excellent trad and folk sessions throughout Sunday with special guests and whoever feels like signing a tune. Watch out for Dundalk’s darlings The Mary Wallopers hosting a session in the living room.
