The track appears on the star-stacked soundtrack for Minions: The Rise Of Gru
Celebrating the arrival of summer, Motown superstar Diana Ross and multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker of Tame Impala have released 'Turn Up the Sunshine'. The single will be featured on the upcoming soundtrack for Minions: The Rise Of Gru - the latest addition to the Despicable Me franchise. The full record will be available July 1, coinciding with the film's premiere.
The star-studded soundtrack has been arranged by pop producer Jack Antonoff of Bleachers. As the prequel takes place in the '70s, the listing will accordingly feature disco and soul classics. This includes plenty of covers of the decade's biggest hits performed by some of the current generation's favourite artists.
The album boasts contributions by H.E.R., Thundercat, Caroline Polachek and Brittany Howard. Listen for other big names like like St. Vincent, Phoebe Bridgers, Brockhampton, and Bleachers.
Diana Ross recently released Thank You, her 25th studio album, last November. This was the singer’s first array of new and original material since 1999. The 78 year-old will perform next month at Glastonbury 2022 occupying the ‘Legends Slot' on June 26.
