Kevin Parker's highly anticipated fourth album will finally arrive early next year.
Kevin Parker of one-man psych band Tame Impala has revealed that his fourth studio album, The Slow Rush, will release on 14 February 2020 via Fiction Records. The announcement comes coupled with a new single, 'It Might Be Time,' which features on the album along with the previously released track 'Borderline.'
Almost five years have passed since the release of the last Tame Impala record, 2015's Currents, and just like with that album, The Slow Rush was recorded, produced and mixed solely by Parker. Recorded between Los Angeles and Parker's hometown of Fremantle, Australia, the album has endured California wildfires to make it to the ears of eager fans but is finally almost here.
"A lot of the songs carry this idea of time passing, of seeing your life flash before your eyes, being able to see clearly your life from this point onwards," Parker told The New York Times in May. "I'm being swept by this notion of time passing. There's something really intoxicating about it."
The album cover was created in collaboration with photographer Neil Krug and features a symbol of humanity all but swallowed whole by the surrounding environment, as though in the blink of an eye.

Originally formed in 2007 in Perth, Australia, Tame Impala slowly built a loyal club following. Thanks to the ravenous demand of fans for a transcendent live performance, the band has gone on to headline festivals and theatres around the world and released three full-length albums—Innerspeaker, Lonerism and Currents. As a writer and producer Parker has collaborated with Travis Scott, SZA, Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Kanye West, Kali Uchis, Theophilus London, Miguel, A$AP Rocky and more.
In the last six months Tame Impala has headlined multiple major festivals, including a performance at 3Arena this past June.
