"In a way it's when I truly discovered myself as an artist."
Tame Impala (aka Kevin Parker) is celebrating the ten year anniversary of his second studio album Lonerism.
"Lonerism is 10 years old today. Difficult to sum up what the album means to me at this point. It was a pretty special time for me making the music. In a way it's when I truly discovered myself as an artist," the Australian musician wrote on Instagram where he also shared the album's original cover photo.

In reminiscing, the 36-year-old shared the few photos that exist of him recording the album, taken by friend Sav. Parker claims he "wasn't exactly dying to get in front of the camera back then."

Parker also revealed that the original title of the 2012 album was meant to be called Loner Pop:
"I was happy it was done but not completely satisfied as I didn't think I got the title quite right. Suddenly the word lonerism popped into my head and it was obvious that that was the one," he wrote. He made the change so last minute, that some CDs still say the original title on them.

Last week, Parker performed the entire album in entirety to celebrate the anniversary at Desert Daze in Lake Perris, California.
