The album has already topped charts 5 countries, including New Zealand and Australia.
The Tortured Poets Department has become Taylor Swift's 7th no.1 album in Ireland.
Released on April 19, the album has since broken a record for most streamed record in a single week, amassing 1 billion listens in its first week alone. This news came shortly after the star broke another record for Spotify's most streamed album in a single day on April 19.
The artist had overtaken the standing record, which was previously held by her 2022 Midnights.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that 1.5m copies of The Tortured Poets Department had already been sold, including 700,000 vinyl copies, meaning that Taylor Swift had smashed the record for weekly vinyl sales in just three days.
The record, which has received a lukewarm critical response was given a 6/10 by Hot Press in a recent review which read: "There are times when it seems that she is self-conscious to a fault – but hardly self-aware".

However, the 31 track album has been praised by fans as one of Swift's most intimate explorations of heartbreak yet with many speculating that some of the album's songs to be about 1975 frontman Matty Healy.
Swift, who is seemingly on an unstoppable rise with her current box office billion dollar Eras tour, is due to play three Dublin dates this summer from June 29-30 at Aviva Stadium.
