After bringing her career total VMAs to 30, the star urged US fans to vote in the US November election.
Taylor Swift encouraged fans to vote in the forthcoming U.S. Presidential election during her acceptance speech at the VMAs in L.A yesterday evening.
The star, who was receiving the award for MTV's top Video Music Award, said “if you are over 18, please register to vote for something else that’s very important: our presidential election. I love you guys so, so much. Thank you for this moment.”
Swift became the most awarded artist in the VMA categories after winning the Video of the Year award for her video 'Fortnight' which features collaborator Post Malone.
The artist's fanbase "Swifties" chanted her name avidly as the star took the stage with Post Malone to accept her award from rapper Meghan Thee Stallion.

With this years batch of awards, Swift has broken VMA history, becoming the biggest ever MTV awards winner, surpassing Beyoncé's 27 MTV accolade.
Earlier this week, Swift declared that she would be voting for Kamala Harris via a post to Instagram, calling her a "steady-handed, gifted leader " Swift continues that, "we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos."
The statement proceeded a contentious U.S debate, which has left both candidates at neck and neck in the polls. he singer also came under fire from Republican candidate Donald Trump, who said Swift will "Pay a Price" for endorsing the Harris campaign.
