The artist has just achieved her 10th US Billboard number 1 single, joining an exclusive club of pop royalty
Taylor Swift has joined an exclusive club of artists after achieving her 10th number 1 single- on a song released four years ago.
“Cruel Summer” tops this week’s US Billboard Hot 100 having been released in 2019. The song was originally released on Swift's seventh studio album Lover, but has since gained a following online, used in Tiktoks and Instagram reels alike, and was promoted as a single during for the first time during the star's smash hit “The Eras Tour.”
Last week, Swift further bolstered the song’s streaming numbers by unveiling a live version of the track, as well as a new remix from producer LP Giobbi.
“Cruel Summer” marks Swift’s 10th No. 1 single to date, following “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” “Bad Blood” featuring Kendrick Lamar, “Look What You Made Me Do,” “Cardigan,” “Willow,” “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version),” and “Anti-Hero.”
As a result of "Cruel Summer"'s sleeper hit success, Swift follows in the footsteps of a select few musicians including the Beatles, with the all-time high record of 20- US number 1s. The 12 person club includes international superstars such as Mariah Carey, Elvis Presley, Rihanna, Drake, Michael Jackson, and Madonna.

The news comes shortly after the box office success of the artist's concert film, 'The Eras Tour' became the highest grossing concert film of all time.
