The record-breaking tour came to an end in Canada over the weekend
Taylor Swift's Eras tour has been confirmed as the most commercially successful tour ever, after the singer's representatives disclosed that the global phenomenon grossed $2,077,618,725 (€1.96 billion).
Taylor Swift Touring confirmed the figure to the New York Times, following the tour's last date in Vancouver on December 8. The total is over double that of the previous record set by Coldplay's 156-date Music of the Spheres World Tour in August.
The recent ticket sales confirmation marks the first time Swift's team has disclosed any data around the Eras Tour, though Pollstar estimate that the Eras tour crossed the billion dollar mark last November.
Beginning in Glendale, Arizona on March 17, 2023, the Eras tour consisted of 149 shows in 21 different countries. Over ten million people are reported to have attended the gigs across the globe, with demand being so high that ticketmaster's system crashed in November 2022.
