Taylor Swift sold over 40,000 copies of 'evermore' in the first three days of its release.
Taylor Swift has broken the record for the most one-week vinyl album sales for evermore in the US.
Over 40,000 vinyl copies of the album - which debuted at No. 1 in December 2020 - were sold in its first three days of release, according to Billboard.
The 'Cardigan' singer is expected to exceed her new record even further as the tracking week does not end until Thursday (June 3rd).
The record was previously held by Jack White’s Lazaretto, which sold 40,000 copies in the US in its first week of release in June 2014.
evermore’s vinyl sales have been significantly influenced by banked pre-orders from December 2020, as the vinyl version of the album went up for pre-order at the same time as the digital album and other versions were released.
Due to the surprise nature in which evermore and its sister album folklore were released, the production of the physical copies of the albums such as the CD, cassette and vinyl were delayed due to the lengthy manufacturing process of these editions.
