I Am Bollixed is the third album in a trilogy of records that focus on the 2020 pandemic introspectively.
TCXL, also known as Tom Coughlan, has released the last of his trilogy mixtapes, I Am Bollixed.
This record finishes the narrative arch that was started with his 2020 mixtape Da Bollix, followed by the second piece Sounds and Noises in 2021.
The opener on the album, ‘Come Outside’ is a reflection of the 2020 pandemic as a 22-year-old sees the world again with childlike wonder. Local-boy is featured on this song combines an intense bass line and peppy drum beat that is meant to mimic the joyful feeling someone has on sunny days in childhood.
As he puts it, the rest of the record centres around “being able to re-engage in multiple different types of well-considered hedonism outside of the house once again. The drink, sex and drugs are back; but this time there also comes an understanding of the spoils and ruins such indulgence brings.”
‘Da Price’ featuring Curtisy and Fynch is the most recent single from the album which was released with its accompanying music video on March 17, 2024.

TCXL started making music at the age of 18 and released his first EP Da Bollix on March 17, 2020. Like many artists, the pandemic significantly affected his music, so much so that it inspired his trilogy. The rapper has found his musical support in Dublin from labels like Burner Records and Indigo Sessions.
