Thompson will perform at Connolly's of Leap and Cyrpus Avenue during his string of Irish gigs later this month.
Folk musician Teddy Thompson has announced two solo concerts in Co. Cork as part of his upcoming Irish tour, which also sees the Englishman take to stages in Dublin, Galway and Wexford from 20-26 July.
The singer is set to perform classic covers from his album My Love of Country, including songs from Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, George Jones and more.
“In my favorite eras of music, it was all about the song,” said Thompson of the project. “Most of the country songs that I know and love were recorded by dozens and dozens of people. And it was all in the service of the song. I grew up with that being the most important thing. For this record, that was a huge part of it. I just want people to hear these songs.”
