The grit-pop duo's performance for Van Morrison's 75th birthday celebration goes live at 7pm this evening.
Following stunning performances from Andrea Corr, Hudson Taylor, and Wallis Bird this week, we're getting ready to kick off the weekend by presenting acclaimed duo Thanks Brother as our next act on 'Rave On, Van Morrison' – performing a cover of Van's 1989 single 'Have I Told You Lately'.
Over the course of the YouTube event, celebrating Van Morrison's 75th birthday, you can expect even more renditions of the legendary artist's stunning songs from some of the most iconic names in the country – including President Michael D. Higgins with Bill Whelan, Hozier, Sinéad O'Connor, Gary Lightbody, Imelda May, Bob Geldof, Glen Hansard and Damien Dempsey, to name just a few.
Tipped as one of Hot Press's 'Hot For 2019' Irish acts, Thanks Brother combines the unique talents of Róisín O and John Broe (formerly of Miracle Bell). After penning tracks for the likes of Gavin James and The Coronas, the duo found success with their own gritty pop sound – first heard on their stunning debut single, 'We Are Different', in 2018. Last year, Thanks Brother released their highly anticipated EP 1, produced and mixed by Grammy Award winner Ruadhri Cushnan.
Each 'Rave On, Van Morrison' performance, including Thanks Brother's cover of 'Have I Told You Lately' tonight, premieres at 7pm Irish Standard Time every night on the Hot Press YouTube channel.
