Ringing guitars, hurried, impassioned vocals, an orchestral break and the fact that Natalie is a bit of a dote – if John Hughes was still making movies about American teens this’d be on the soundtrack. ‘Shikaya’ is crafted and charming, while ‘Just Another Day’ is a gentle rocking little number with a great line in melody and a clever lyric. Somewhere between Gemma Hayes and Natalie Imbruglia lies perfection. Oh, stoppit! I didn’t mean it like that!
