Westmeath indie outfit The Academic have announced they will be playing Dublin's renowned 3Olympia on November 7, 2024.
Last month, the band also revealed that they'll be playing at Cork's Cyprus Avenue Jazz Festival in late October.
Since forming in 2013, the indie rock band have released two number one albums. Following the success of their debut record Tales from the Backseat, The Academic embarked on a global tour selling out venues across the world.
The four-piece added to their success 5 years on with their 2023 LP Sitting Pretty, which marked a change in sound for the band and earned them a second Irish number one album. The release also made waves internationally, with the band adding a string of dates in South East Asia during their Sitting Pretty tour.
Earlier this year the band toured Europe, including six dates across Ireland. The group also joined a slew of Irish artists performing in the four-part music series Uprising on Virgin Media One.

Looking back on their journey, vocalist Craig Fitzgerald comments on the band's evolution, "We're different people now but that's natural. We are still as ambitious as we have ever been, and we feel that our best work is yet to come. We are very excited for what is to come in 2024.”
Tickets for The Academic's Dublin show start from €30.40 and go on general sale on Friday, October 4 at 10am via ticketmaster.
