Following their electrifying performance at last weekend’s Electric Picnic, The Academic have announced a run of Irish shows this November and December.
Their debut album, Tales From The Backseat, exploded the band onto the scene in 2018. Their sophomore record Sitting Pretty, which dropped in February of this year, soared straight to the top of the Irish album charts.
This achievement marked the Westmeath quartet’s second consecutive No.1 album, solidifying their status as one of Ireland’s most exciting bands.

The new record gifts fans with even more singalongs with tracks like ‘Don’t Take It Personally’ and ‘Pushing Up Daisies’- which have become some of this summer’s biggest festival anthems.
Following a year of touring the globe, The Academic are excited to return to home Soil- a sentiment expressed by frontman Craig Fitzgerald.
“We are so thrilled to bring the Sitting Pretty tour back to Ireland,” he said. “It’s been a whirlwind of a year, and we’ve had the privilege of performing in so many new countries. However, coming back to Ireland to close out the year is something we’re all really excited for.”
