"We will inform you of the new dates shortly, those of you who have already purchased please hold onto your tickets as they will remain valid," The Academic said in their social media announcement.
Irish indie rock group The Academic have announced the postponement of their upcoming UK and European tour.
"The truth is, we've been pouring everything into our new music," the band wrote on social media. "And we've realised that the best thing we can do right now is step back and fully dedicate ourselves to finishing our next album."
The Academic announced the tour in December 2024, which was due to start in Cardiff on March 27, with 24 shows across the UK and Europe, ending in Lisbon on May 14.

"We know this is going to be disappointing, and trust us, we're feeling it too," the band wrote. "But we promise this is all leading to something bigger, and when we do return, it'll be worth the wait.
"Your support means the world to us, and we can’t wait to share what’s coming next," they added.
In 2018, The Academic released their debut album, Tales From the Backseat, which hit number one on the Irish charts. Their second and most recent LP, Sitting Pretty, came out in February 2023 and also reached the top spot here.
Rescheduled dates are expected to be announced soon.
