Since its inception, the annual Ciarán Carr Christmas Busk has raised in excess of €10,000.
The Ciarán Carr Christmas Busk will take place this year in Clondalkin on December 21, honouring the late Ciarán who passed away in 2012 of sudden adult death syndrome.
Buskers will perform outside of the Credit Union at 7:30pm. This year's line-up includes artists such as Shobsy, Leslie Dowdall (In Tua Nua), Kiera Dignam, Colm Gavin, George Murphy, Daoirí Farrell, Brad Heidi, Kylabelle & many more.
The Christmas busk was organised by the parents of the late Ciarán Carr. Gemma and Phillip Carr began the foundation to raise awareness about the tragic illness, using money raised to install AEDs in local amenities and host first aid and CPR training.
Gemma and Phillip established the foundation in Croke Park in 2013 with former Dublin football manager Jim Gavin, paying tribute to Ciarán's love for Gaelic football.
Since its inception, the annual Ciarán Carr Christmas Busk has raised in excess of €10,000. “It’s a very simple idea” says organiser Colm Gavin “A group of musicians get together in the centre of the town, sing a few songs for an hour or so, pass the hat, and the money goes to a worthy cause, in this case, the foundation”.
