After going on sale at 10am this morning, tickets for The Coronas' five-night run of 3Olympia shows have officially sold out.

The gigs are taking place later this year, on December 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17 – and will follow the release of the band's eighth studio album, Thoughts & Observations, on September 27.

Produced by Grammy award-winning, long-time collaborator, George Murphy (Mumford and Sons, The Specials, Ellie Goulding), the album written in Dingle, Co. Kerry and recorded in Eastcote Studios in London.

It's been described as a "powerful, melodic record which takes an incisive look at life, relationships and art."

The album also sees the band – made up of Danny O’Reilly on vocals, piano and guitar, Graham Knox on bass and Conor Egan on drums – embracing the talents of their touring supergroup, with Lar Kaye (All Tvvins) on guitar, Cian MacSweeney (True Tides) on saxophone and Roisin O on backing vocals.

In the days surrounding the release, The Coronas will play a string of special album launch shows across the country – including the Workman's Club, Dublin (September 27); Set Theatre, Kilkenny (28); Dolan's Limerick (30); Monroe's, Galway (October 1); Cyprus Avenue, Cork (2); and Crown Live, Wexford (3).

The 3Olympia shows will follow a run of gigs in the U.S. and Australia in November. The Coronas will also play Ulster Hall in Belfast (December 19) and the INEC Arena in Killarney (December 28) before the year is out.
