The Coronas' new single ‘Speak Up’ will be available starting on April 30. This track is a precursor to a summer of live shows and a new album for the band.

The three-piece Dublin band wrote this single in Co. Kerry. The Coronas consist of members Danny O’Reilly, Graham Knox and Conor Egan. The group have been releasing music together since 2007.

The single is the first song by The Coronas since their 2022 chart-topping album Time Stopped. The band describes the single as an “uplifting cry for help and guidance, a journey of lyrical positivity that builds from an intimate vocal to a huge chorus, bursting with instrumentation and harmony.”

This summer the band plans to return to some of their favourite venues like The Marquee in Cork and Fairview Park in Dublin. They also plan to play large shows in Galway and Limerick.

The Coronas have two U.S. tours on the docket which will lead up to their album release this autumn. Their musical journey has continued to mark them as a high-charting Irish band as their last three albums have been number one in Irish charts. The band also enjoyed sold out tours across the U.S., Canada and Australia.

“When we started the band, people were buying CDs, we were a word-of-mouth student band,” O’Reilly says. “We persevered through the downloads phase, legal and illegal, the resurgence in vinyl, right up until the current iteration of the music industry, the streaming and TikTik-dances area.

“We’ve always ignored a lot of that trendy stuff and consider ourselves a live band first and foremost. For us it’s always been simple: we pride ourselves on releasing good songs and improving our live set, with every single show we do and album we release.”
