The Main Stage kicks off on RTÉ One next week.
Hot Press was delighted to catch up with Cranberries man Noel Hogan and Brazilian singer Mell Peck as they recorded their Irish TV debut this week in Dublin.
Now working together full-time as The Puro, they were pre-recording a song for The Main Stage, RTÉ One’s new six-part summer music show, which is being co-presented by Erica Cody and Danny O’Reilly from The Coronas.
Before they hit the stage, HP sharpshooter Miguel Ruiz did an extensive photo-shoot with Noel and Mell, highlights of which can be seen HERE.
"If Dolores was still with us today, this would be very much in the style of a song I would compose," Hogan says of the latest single, 'Prison', that Mell and him have released together.
There are more songs coming down the tracks soon and the first Puro live show in Brazil in August, details of which will be revealed, naturally, on hotpress.com.
We also have an upcoming video interview with Noel and Mell in which they map out their plans for the rest of 2022 and beyond.

It’s the next exciting chapter in Noel’s career, the first 32 years of which are documented in Why Can’t We? The Story Of The Cranberries And The Band’s Iconic Frontwoman As Told Through The Pages Of Hot Press.
