All proceeds from the sale will go to the Milk Crate Theatre charity in Sydney, Australia.
A guitar amp signed by The Cure is being auctioned off on eBay for the a performing arts charity that specialises in providing creative opportunities for homeless participants.
The Line 6 Spider V 120 amp was used by the band at their Sydney Opera House residency in 2019, during the country's Vivid Festival. At the shows, the band celebrated the 30th anniversary of Disintegration.
The amp was signed by all five current members of The Cure – including frontman Robert Smith, bassist Simon Gallup, guitarist Reeves Gabrels, keyboardist Roger O’Donnell and drummer Jason Cooper. It is the final of five amps the band signed during their time at Sydney Opera House.
The eBay listing, by charity auction manager Bid For Good, currently has a bidding price of €1,299.08 (AUD$2,025.00).
“We believe that by bringing communities together and working from a strengths-based approach, we can a make positive impact on participant wellbeing,” a statement from Milk Crate Theatre read.
