The Dandy Warhols announce new album ROCKMAKER and share new single 'Danzig with Myself' featuring Pixies frontman Frank Black.

ROCKMAKER is set for release on 15th March 2024 via Sunset Blvd. Records and has been described by lead singer Courtney Taylor- Taylor as “the manifestation of our desire to hear a record of heavy raw punk and metal guitar riffs handled in a way that we felt was cooler or sexier but has its own alley.”

ROCKMAKER is mixed by producer Jagz Kooner and mastered by British DJ Keith Tenniswood and marks the 12th studio album for the American alternative rock band.

The lead single off the new project was released today on Youtube, an acid rock track with a psychedelic lyrics video, 'Danzig with Myself' featuring Pixies' frontman Frank Black.

Black adds heavy dose of Pixies’ fuzzy falsetto, leaving 'Danzig with Myself''s screeching guitar play off Taylor's quintessential apathetic vocals.  Although Black's involvement is central in the new track, it was the result of pure chance according to Courtney Taylor-Taylor.

He says of the lucky collaboration: “I was just checking in with him, and he happened to be in Zürich,” recalls Taylor-Taylor. “I hooked him and some of his family up with some very interesting museum tours first, then I asked him if he would play on our record.” The result? “Of course, he did!”

And what can fans expect from the upcoming studio LP? Well more of the 'Danzig with Myself' sound apparently: Sometimes we have a very focused idea of what we want,” Taylor-Taylor says.

“It’s generally what we want somebody else to make but since they never do, we have to. It has a very specific sound. There aren’t a lot of heavy guitar records currently coming out that we like, so that was the impetus for ROCKMAKER.”
