The Darkness are set to perform at two shows in Limerick and Killarney
The Darkness have announced two new Irish shows- King John’s Castle, Limerick on June 20, and the Gleneagle INEC Arena, Killarney on June 21.
This comes as the band prepare for the release of their eighth studio album, Dreams on Toast, available March 28. Justin Hawkins comments on the upcoming album: “God might not be the power she once was, but say what you like about her, she knows damn well that what the world needs now, is rock sweet rock.”
“So we knuckled down and thought really hard about the best of the best, the elite songs, the life-changing music of the ages.” Hawkins continues, “Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Dreams on Toast!”
The band released the album's '70s rock-inspired lead single ‘The Longest Kiss' last September, with the second song from the project, 'I Hate Myself', arriving in December.
Though their most well known work, ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love’ was released 21 years ago, it recently saw a resurgence in popularity after Taylor Swift was seen singing along to the rock classic during the US Open. The track hit number one on the US iTunes rock chart, and went up in charts all over the world.
