Limerick residents mourning the loss of Thomond Park should be heartened to hear that there are lots of exciting goings-on on the local music scene. Firstly the long-awaited release of the Giveamanakick album will happen on November 11. We Are The Way Forward is their second opus following on from Is It Okay To Be Loud Jesus?
To mark the launch of the album, the band will be playing an instore on the release day in Tower Records in Dublin, which will be followed by an extensive Irish tour. Check hotpress.com for details...

The location for their creative endeavours is the ever-popular Black Box Studios and lending his production skills to the project is ex-Frames man Dave Odlum. They will also be playing their first Cork show in almost a year on Friday November 25 at Cyprus Avenue...

…Fellow Dubliners Channel One will be working in the studio in the next couple of weeks on their debut single. Will keep you posted on on track listing, remixes and release date. In the meantime Channel One will play Psychotic Reaction @ Pogo-The Pod on November 5 and have a prestigious support slot to The Young Gods at their show in the Temple Bar Music Centre on November 30.

Songwriter Stephen Hill is showcasing his radio single “Conspiracy” in a number of venues around the country shortly. ‘Conspiracy’ is the first track lifted from Stephen’s forthcoming debut album. Stephen won the hotpress First Cuts Song of the Fortnight in November 2003 for his song ‘Down My Way’...
Another busy gent is Barry O’Brien who after a hectic 2005 supporting the likes of The Walls, Aslan and The Revs, will be taking his power pop trio to Crawdaddy on November 17.
