The Lemon Twigs - NYC’s sibling duo composed of Brian and Michael D’Addario - have today released a new single ‘How Can I Love Her More?’ which functions as the thematic backbone of their forthcoming album A Dream Is All We Know, out 3rd May via Captured Tracks.
Wrestling with love and heartbreak, the track channels a whirlwind of musical flights of fancy. Clamouring horns and bellowing strings introduce the soundscape before the song settles into a riotous shuffle, complete with two drum sets, an animating bassline laminated by theremin, flutes and harpsichord.
The single is accompanied by a video, directed and edited by the D’Addario brothers, which takes viewers on a cheeky trip through NYC’s Central Park, museum row and countless moments of Manhattan mischief.
Recorded completely to tape and mixed and mastered by Brian and Michael themselves on of-the-era equipment, A Dream Is All We Know presents a distinctive soundscape that is both contemporary in spirit, yet nostalgic by design.
From the evergreen tropes of the Lennon-McCartney songbook - including the most explicit example yet, with co-production on ‘In The Eyes Of The Girl’ by Sean Ono Lennon - to the skyrocketing harmonies of the Wilson family and nods to The Move, Big Star, Tradewinds and more, A Dream Is All We Know revisits the 1968 sound the brothers teased the potential of making on 2016’s Do Hollywood.
But with five albums, collaborations with everyone from Weyes Blood to Tim Heidecker, stages shared with Phoenix, Bleachers, Arctic Monkeys, and their musical hero Todd Rundgren, and praise from Elton John, The Zombies, Gerard Way, Iggy Pop and many more under their belt, this new album clearly demonstrates The Lemon Twigs’ growth and sonic maturity.

Following 2023’s emotionally charged Everything Harmony, A Dream Is All We Know showcases the brothers building upon a newfound sense of intuition after years spent perfecting their craft.
