The Liverpool legends make us beg for a new album after their incredible set
The sun broke through as The Lightning Seeds walked on stage. Luck was on their side as the place slowly filled up with people who had been waiting a long time to see them back on stage in Ireland. Stradbally was the place to be for all the Liverpool-loving music freaks. Old friends met up in front of the stage, whereas parents tried to educate their kids by taking them to see Ian Broudie and his gang.
'Lucky You' got the crowd going early on, the smile on Broudie's lips clearly showing how much he was enjoying himself. Hits such as 'You Showed Me', 'Marvellous' and 'Change' were welcomed by people jumping around and chanting along to the lyrics.
Father and son Broudie stood proudly next to each other on the stage, trading guitar solos. "This is a song close to my heart", Ian said, before the first notes of 'Life Of Riley' spread across the field. With a final combo of 'Sense', 'Pure' and 'Sugar Coated Iceberg' the band walked of the stage, another festival conquered and more people converted to the music of the Liverpudlian.
