Off the back of their long-awaited reunion, English indie rock icons The Maccabees have announced a headline show at The Academy. The Dublin show will take place on Sunday, August 17, 2025, as part of a newly confirmed UK and Ireland tour.
After 14 years together, The Maccabees disbanded in 2016. However, the band recently revealed they’re reforming to headline London’s All Points East festival this summer, marking an anticipated return to the stage.
Formed in 2004 in London, The Maccabees released four critically acclaimed albums: Colour It In (2007), Wall of Arms (2009), Given to the Wild (2012), and their final studio release Marks to Prove It (2015).
The band is composed of Orlando Weeks, Hugo White, Felix White, Rupert Jarvis, and Robert Dylan Thomas.
The first spark of a reunion can be traced back to guitarist and founding member Hugo White’s wedding in February 2020, when all the band members were in attendance. They performed fan favourite 'Pelican' at the party, marking the beginning of their return.
