Tickets for the trio's Cork gig go on sale tomorrow.
Less than a week after selling out Vicar Street in under 30 minutes, The Mary Wallopers have announced a headline show – Live at St. Luke's, Cork on December 19.
Made up of brothers Andrew and Charles Hendy, as well as Sean McKenna, the Dundalk ballad group have rapidly established themselves as a captivating force in Irish music – with their trademark combination of charm, irreverence, staggering talent and a fiercely DIY ethos.
Over lockdown, their live-streamed gigs from the Hendys' home in Dundalk helped them to build up a major online fanbase – following appearances on the Tommy Tiernan Show, and the Fontaines D.C.-curated Rock Against Homelessness night at the Olympia Theatre, Dublin in 2020. In 2019, they released their acclaimed debut EP, A Mouthful of The Mary Wallopers.
The Mary Wallopers were also recently involved in Breaking The Silence – a live-streamed event from the National Concert Hall, featuring words and music in response to the legacy of Ireland's Mother and Baby Home Institutions.
