Irish folk group The Mary Wallopers have announced a 2025 North American tour.
The tour will start in Chicago, with the first show on April 18. The band will play eight gigs across seven locations in North America, ending with a Vancouver concert on April 30.
The Mary Wallopers were formed in Dundalk by brothers Andrew and Charles Hendy, and their friend Sean McKenna. The group now includes Róisín Barrett, Ken Mooney, and Finnian O’Connor.
In 2022, they debuted with a self-titled album. In an interview with Hotpress on the release, Andrew Hendy said:
“Our biggest strength is definitely the live gigs. Even with TPM, the way we’ve learned music is just by doing gigs all the time. We’re actually not that used to recording, especially with The Mary Wallopers. But I think we captured our live energy - and rowdiness - on this album.”
Irish Rock N Roll, The Mary Wallopers' second and most recent record, was released in October 2023. The album combines their punk ethos and the long-held Irish traditions of rebellion. The lead single, ‘The Idler’, released just before the full project.

“The song was written in response to the scapegoating and vilification of ordinary people just doing what they need to do in order to keep struggling through life,” McKenna said, “rarely harming anyone, meanwhile those in positions of power, the ones who often create or uphold such situations, are held in high esteem and regarded as pillars of the community...”
