The Dublin-formed band's new project has also entered the Official Irish Albums Chart at No.7.
Following the release of their acclaimed third album Blindness last week, The Murder Capital have soared straight to No.1 on the Independent Albums Chart.
The Top 5 of the Independent Chart is dominated by Irish talent this week – with Blindness followed by Fontaines D.C.'s Romance (No.2), and KNEECAP's Fine Art (No.5).
The Murder Capital's new LP also made a strong debut on the Official Irish Albums Chart, coming in at No.7. That chart is lead by two new entries this week – with Tate McRae's So Close To What at No.1, and Sam Fender's People Watching at No.2.
Blindness scored an impressive nine-star review in Hot Press, with John Walshe describing the album as "breathless", "exhilarating", and "the sound of a band re-finding their path."
Over on the Irish Homegrown Chart, meanwhile, Fontaines D.C. have debuted at No.1 with their new single 'It's Amazing To Be Young'. The Murder Capital's 'A Distant Life', from Blindness, has also entered that chart at No.14.
The Murder Capital are also expected to have a big week on the UK Albums Chart, which will be revealed later this evening. According to mid-week insights from the Official Charts Company, Blindness was at No.7 – which would be a career-best for the band.
