The rising Irish band have four upcoming Irish shows in celebration of their new album, Blindness. – with a major show planned for Iveagh Gardens in July.
The Murder Capital look set to reach Number 7 on the UK Albums Chart this week with their new record Blindness, according to midweek insights from the Official Charts Company.
The feat will mark the post-punk band’s best chart performance to date. The Albums Chart will be released on Friday at 5:45 p.m.
Comprised of James McGovern, Damien Tuit, Cathal Roper, Gabriel Paschal Blake and Diarmuid Brennan, the band made it into the Top 20 with their 2019 album When I Have Fears, which peaked at No.18, and their 2023 album GiGi’s Recovery which reached No.16.
"It’s breathless; it’s exhilarating; it’s the sound of a band re-finding their path," wrote John Walshe for Hot Press about Blindness.
The Murder Capital are currently on tour, with dates lined up in the UK, Ireland, Japan and Europe. They will perform an in-store tomorrow at Spindizzy Records, Dublin, with a second Dublin show the following day, and Galway and Cork appearances also scheduled for February. On July 19, they are set to play the Iveagh Gardens, in what will be their biggest Dublin show to date.

The midweek insights also predict a chart spike for Fontaines D.C.'s album Romance, which rose nine places to No.32, since the release last week of their new single ‘It’s Amazing To Be Young'. The album peaked at No. 2 upon its release last year.
Meanwhile Pitbull’s Greatest Hits rose by 26 places and indications are that it will settle at No.36 or thereabouts. Pitbull played a hugely successful and widely acclaimed gig at 3Arena this week, and has since added a second 3Arena date to his tour.
The UK Albums Chart will be available here on Friday.
