Kenny Larkin was responsible for some of the most emotive techno to come out of Detroit, but then he gave it all up, moved to Los Angeles and re-started his stand-up comedy career. Now Larkin is back with his first album in six years – and, apart from moving from the dance floor to slower tempos, not much has changed. As you’d expect from Larkin, the production is sleek and intricate, the melodies are warm and evocative and in ‘Mono E Mono’ he’s got a classic track to rival Carl Craig’s ‘At Les’.
