As Ireland’s answer to Chromeo, LCD Soundsystem and Ronald Reagan all at once (it’ll make sense on the dancefloor, I promise), Le Galaxie have a whole lot of ear-pleasing to do on a nightly basis and, while pulsating debut album Laserdisc Nights II did a phenomenal job of keeping choon-thirsty electronica buffs at bay, it was only a matter of time before we screamed out for more. After a year-long wait, more finally comes in the form of the Fade 2 Forever EP, an oft-mellower, oft-more industrial product than previous releases. Opener ‘Love System’ is straight-up Drive soundtrack material, while ‘The Nightcaller’ feat. Laura Smyth is an instant classic; moody, anthemic and like all of Le Galaxie’s retrofuturistic creations, dynamic as hell.
