Impressive stuff!
According to figures released by Pollstar Magazine, The O2 Dublin is the second busiest concert venue in the world, leaving historic venues such as New York's Madison Square Garden and London's Wembley Arena.
The numbers don't lie. Between January and June of 2011, it is estimated that 424,307 tickets were purchased for gigs and events taking place at the former Point Theatre. Only The O2 in London had more visitors, with a mammoth 1,041,628 tickets sold.
Mike Adamson, CEO of Live Nation Ireland - owners of Dublin's O2 - was quick to express his delight at the figures which he felt confirmed the popular venue as a truly "world class" setting.

"We won't get complacent about this," he added. "While we have shows booked in right through to November 2012, we will continue to make sure that the best and the biggest come to Ireland and play The O2."
