Reforming for their first show since 2016, the Irish post-rock band Enemies is coming to the Button Factory this Fall
The Kilcoole-born band Enemies dominated the early 2000s rock scene. Now, presented by Singular Artists, Enemies will reform for a show this September at the Button Factory.
In a recent statement, the band, made up of Eoin, Lewis, Mark and Oisín x, disclosed that the driving force behind the reunion was simple:
"In short, we missed our band."
"What started this whole reunion idea?," the statement begins, "It’s simple: we missed having fun with each other. We missed our friendships, our laughter, our flow, our songs. We missed the goofy, hyperactive energy that we felt when we jammed in a room together."
"With maturity, time and distance we’ve developed a heightened appreciation for the chemistry between the four of us, and just how special it was. We were lucky to find each other in 2007, and to create that kind of joyous noise together. We decided to see how it would feel to hang out and play those songs again; without any of the agendas or pressures that broke us apart. To go back to basics. Playing together, just for fun. Hanging out and being dumb friends again."

"A Dublin show — and more importantly a Button Factory show — feels like an exciting way to get back to this thing. A way to get back in front of those who still celebrate and throw love towards our weird little band."

The Wicklow band's debut album We've Been Talking came out in 2009 after the band toured Japan in support of the Japanese post-rock band Toe, signed to Machupicchu Indistrias. With We've Been Talking and once signed to Richter Collective.
With frequent European and Asian tours, Enemies quickly became famous worldwide, signing to Topshelf Records in 2013. The soon released Embark, Embrace, retained their steel grip on the math-rock and emo worlds by touring extensively with appearances at SXSW, CMJ New York and ArcTanGent.
When the Enemies' album Valuables dropped in 2016, it was set to be their last. Finishing their touring career at Vicar Street in Dublin, it was their largest show to date. Seven years later, their upcoming Button Factory performance is something out of a dream for their post-rock fans, highly anticipated and sure to be amazing.
