Relentless follows the 2020 record Hate for Sale, which was the group's first release since 2002 to feature original member Martin Chambers who was absent on Break Up the Concrete and Alone.
Ohio-born front woman Chrissie Hynde formed Pretenders in London in 1978 alongside Hereford natives James Honeyman-Scott, Pete Farndon, and Martin Chambers. Their self-titled debut album, originally released in January 1980, was the first UK number one album of the decade and garnered critical acclaim globally.

Hynde has remained one of the band's only constants over their four-decade run, maintaining the unique guitar-based sound originally forged at the hands of Honeyman-Scott. Her iconic rock-and-roll voice and anti-establishment persona cement her as a timeless fixture in the alternative rock scene and as a role model to many.
The 71 year-old has recorded 17 studio albums throughout her career and has guested with numerous acclaimed artists, including Frank Sinatra and Moreno Veloso. She is currently trending for calling the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame "total bollocks" in a viral Facebook post, published earlier this week.
