The iconic electro-dance band announced they would not be playing two European festivals after Maxim injured his back.
The Prodigy, the electro-dance group whose career has spanned multiple decades, have announced they will not be performing at two major upcoming festivals due to an injury within the group.
The group were scheduled to perform at both Spain’s Dreambeach and Winchester’s Boomtown this weekend, but announced via social media that Maxim was currently recovering from a temporary back injury and wouldn't be able to perform.
"This isn’t a decision the band take lightly," read the statement signed The Prodigy HQ, "and they apologise to all fans who are travelling to these shows. We will update everyone on his progress and future shows as soon as possible."

The Prodigy is one of the most successful British acts in recent years, with six number 1 albums and the nickname "the godfathers of rave". They released their last album in 2016, and are much-loved in Ireland, even headlining Sunday night at Electric Picnic in 2018.
The group has undergone massive changes over the years, left reeling when frontman Keith Flint took his own life in 2019, aged 49. However, as of last year, the now-duo have gotten back on the road, embarking on their first live tour without Flint.
Despite these recent cancellations, the band is still scheduled to continue their 'Army of the Ants' European tour and embark on a UK tour this November. They recently visited Ireland in June as part of their European tour, with shows at Cork's Musgrave Park, Dublin's Fairview Park and Belsonic in Belfast.
