Blues icon Robert Cray has been performing with his band for over 50 years.
The Robert Cray Band have announced a headline show at The National Concert Hall, set for June 9.
The band features Cray on vocals and guitar, Richard Cousins on bass, Dover Weinberg on keys and Les Falconer on drums. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on January 24.
Active since 1974, the band derives inspiration from blues, R&B and rock and roll. Cray, a Blues Hall of Fame inductee, has won five Grammys over the course of his career, including Best Contemporary Blues Album for the band’s 2000 record Take Your Shoes Off.
Cray began playing guitar after watching the Beatles on TV and seeing Jimi Hendrix perform in Seattle. With small beginnings in garage bands, he went on to perform with the likes of Tina Turner, The Rolling Stones and Eric Clapton. Cray also earned the Americana Music Awards Lifetime Achievement for Performance in 2017.

“The Band continues with the same enthusiasm and joy in what we do, and no matter the accolades,” said Cray.
Beginning in June, their tour will also reach the UK, the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland.
