We've got everything you need to know about The Stones' first studio album of original material in 18 years, including the new video for 'Angry' – and the full track listing.
The Rolling Stones have shared the video for the new single ‘Angry’, as well as further details on their upcoming album Hackney Diamonds- out 20 October 2023.
The band revealed the information during a livestreamed press event in London, hosted by American television presenter Jimmy Fallon.
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood emerged to a rapturous applause in a packed Empire Theatre in Hackney, London.
“We’re here to present our new single which is called ‘Angry’, the first single from our new album Hackney Diamonds," said Jagger.

The 12-track project is produced by Grammy-winner Andrew Watt and was primarily recorded in Henson Recording Studios, Los Angeles.
The band revealed that Lady Gaga sings on the song ‘Sweet Sounds of Heaven’, while late drummer Charlie Watts and former bassist Bill Wyman feature on ‘Live By The Sword’.
Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Stevie Wonder are also rumoured to have contributed.
Richards revealed that Hit and Run and Smash and Grab were two work-in-progress titles for the album, before they agreed upon Hackney Diamonds - local slang for a shattered windscreen.
“We did it pretty quick actually,” said Wood when asked about the recording process. “There were lots of ideas floating about and we gathered them just before Christmas last year and made a go of it.”

“We’ve been very lazy,” joked Jagger, referring to the 18 years since the Stones’ last original studio album A Bigger Bang. “Suddenly we said, let’s make a record and put a deadline. We said – ‘ok we’ll make this record Christmas and we’re gonna finish it by Valentines Day’”.
Some of the tracks, including ‘Angry’, were written by Jagger and Richards in Jamaica before linking up with Wood in New York.
Hackney Diamonds marks their first studio album of original material since the passing of legendary Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts in 2021.
“Ever since Charlie’s gone it’s different,” said Richards. The guitarist also revealed that drummer Steve Jordan was chosen as a replacement by Watts himself.

“It would have been a lot harder without Charlie’s blessing,” he added.
This being the band’s 24th studio album over a career now entering it’s seventh decade, Fallon asked them if they remembered the press conference for their first LP.
“We gave them a pint of beer and said, ‘here’s our album’,” said Jagger, recounting a meeting with two journalists in a London Pub in the 1960s. “The reviews were mixed but it sold well.”
After a brief Q & A session with questions from fans, the band cleared the stage for the ‘Angry’ premier.
Before showing the film, Fallon chatted with Euphoria and White Lotus actor Sydney Sweeney, who stars in the music video.
“This is the biggest thing ever,” she said. “I loved the song when I heard it, it’s been stuck in my head..
