Couldn't Give A Rats featured as one of Hot Press's Top 10 Albums of 2020.
To celebrate the one-year anniversary of the release of their acclaimed debut album, Couldn't Give A Rats, The Scratch have announced a special live-streamed performance this Saturday, March 27.
"It's insane to think that it's been an entire year since it came out without ever given the chance to play it for you all," the band commented. "Rough one. At 9pm this Saturday, we will be streaming an hour long show playing this album front to back. It is free to watch. All we ask is if you enjoy it, donate what you can through the link provided on the night. Or not, it doesn't matter. We put everything we had into this and can't wait for you all to see it."
Emerging as a raw, high-energy alternative to neatly packaged and polished acts, The Scratch have consistently thrown predictability to the wind – embracing absurdity and anarchy in equal measure as they garner legions of devotees off the back of their famously raucous live shows. The Dublin-based four-piece sold out a string of Irish venues, as well as London's Camden Assembly, in the run-up to Christmas 2019.
They continued to blur the boundaries between folk and metal in their own wildly unique way on their debut album Couldn't Give A Rats, released on March 27. The album went on to make Hot Press's Top 10 Albums of 2020. Over lockdown, they also contributed a cover of 'Sweet Thing' to Hot Press's Rave On Van Morrison celebration.
