"We have a new album in the works and a bunch of shows coming up," the band revealed in a statement today. "We will be moving forward with a new member, who we will introduce in the coming days before the first show this Friday."
In a statement shared on social media today, The Scratch have announced the departure of guitarist Jordan O'Leary, after eight years in the band.
"We want to wish him the best on his own musical journey which will undoubtedly be incredible," the band wrote. "We have a new album in the works and a bunch of shows coming up. We will be moving forward with a new member, who we will introduce in the coming days before the first show this Friday.
"We're grateful we still get to make music and continue this band that means so much to us," they added. "Thanks to you all for your continued support."
Back in 2021, Jordan released The Burren Tapes, a special solo project featuring three classic Irish folk songs. He was also part of the band at The Pogues' 40th anniversary Red Roses For Me show in London this year – and is set to be involved once again at the upcoming 3Arena show on December 17.

The Scratch released their debut album, Couldn't Give A Rats, in 2020, before returning with their follow-up LP, Mind Yourself, in 2023, which was nominated for Irish Album of the Year at the Choice Music Prize.
The band is now made up of Daniel Lang, Cathal McKenna and Conor Dockery – plus a new member, set to be revealed soon.
