The news comes ahead of The Scratch's sold-out National Stadium gig this evening
Taking to social media this afternoon, The Scratch have revealed that they have finished recording their highly anticipated third album.
The Irish band shared an image from the studio, featuring producer John 'Spud' Murphy (known for his work with the likes of Lankum, ØXN, Ye Vagabonds and Junior Brother), and studio engineer Thomas Donoghue.
The album follows 2023's Mind Yourself, which was nominated for Irish Album of the Year at the Choice Music Prize, and their debut album, 2020's Couldn't Give A Rats.
This will be The Scratch's first album since the departure of guitarist Jordan O'Leary last month, after eight years in the band. Jordan is set to continue on his "own musical journey", the band stated at the time, "which will undoubtedly be incredible."
The band have since brought in Gary Regan (of Dublin band Hero In Error) for their live shows – with the new guitarist also featuring in today's photo shared from the studio.
