Experimental Dublin four-piece The Scratch have shared a new film documenting the creation of their much-anticipated sophomore album Mind Yourself.
In the 7-minute clip, the bandmembers discuss the group’s unique identity and their thought processes going into their second full-length LP.
Also in the film is the album’s producer, the acclaimed James Vincent McMorrow, who describes the recording process and the task of getting the most out of the band’s one-of-a-kind musical approach.
“The first thing I liked about them was when they went on TV,” reveals McMorrow in the documentary. “People normally dress up for TV and they dressed the opposite, I liked that they went on national T.V in shorts and were like ‘here’s us playing a song’, they ripped through it and it was amazing.”
The Scratch have earned a strong following in recent years, drawing in crowds at home and abroad with their fusion of heavy metal and Irish folk music.
